A WIN IN A DUMP
Sunday we played the last place team in the league. We knew going into the game it would not be easy. For some reason every team we play plays their best game vs us. The game itself was no surprise but the gym was. The guys on the team told me the gym was bad but i was still surprised on how bad it was. It had only one entrance/exit it was colder inside than out. The people sitting at the scorers table had jackets, scarfs, and gloves on. The concession/bar stand was 2 feet from the court with 6 foot tall portable heaters. The locker rooms had 1 toilet for both teams and you could not flush it so you can only imagine how bad the smell was. The floor was rubber and the basket were from 1985 they didn’t even have break-away rims. During the 3rd quarter the lights went out and the guy from the scorers table calmly gets up and goes to the fuse box and flips the switch and like it happens all the time. In the 4th quarter the floor became so slick that our coach took out all the starters with 2 minutes left with a 8 point lead so no more players would get hurt. That team will renovate the gym for 26 million dollars( they need 40 million). We won 92-85 I finished with 22 points 7 rebounds and 4 assists.
