WEEKEND SPLIT
The team I coach the “cadets” we played the first place team. This team is undefeated and had been winning games by 40 points. I had never seen this team so I was concerned because you have to play the best team in the league without as scouting report can be very scary. And to top things of our leading scorer and center are hurt leaving us with 7 players. We started off well taking the lead 22-21 in the 1st quarter but we were down 12 points at halftime. We went zone in the second half and cut the lead to 2 points with 2:35 to go in the 4th we had 3 chances to tie or take the lead but every shot we took went half way down and out. They came down and hit a 25 footer and put us away we lost 68-61 we played well and had a chance to win.
My game Sunday we played a very athletic team they gave us a lot problems because their center was a 2 guard so we played 5 guards and we have a very big older team. The game was close the whole way we were down 51-50 at halftime. In the fourth quarter we were up 2 points with 1:30 to go at the free throw line we missed the free throw and we go for the rebound the ball hits the refs leg our center picks it passes to our 4 man he hits a 3 to put us up 5 and that sealed the game for us. We won 97-95 I finished with 17 points 7 rebounds and 3 assists…
